Is $2,600 a reasonable price for 2 - 3 hours of dental occlusal equilibration?

I worked for a dentist in the early 80s that did a lot of equilibrations thinking it would solve TMJ problems.Sorry,I can't remember the cost but of course that was a long time ago.I've worked in dentistry for 25 yrs and dentists were still equiibrating teeth which is time-consuming and you're right about it only includes you,the dentist(absolutely no anesthetic so you can feel your occlusion/bite)occluding paper and a drill to adjust your bite still into the 90s.I don't hear much about it today but using NTIs at a cost of aprox. $110.$2600 seems excessive to me and on equilibrating teeth there are many different schools of thought about it in Dentistry.I'm curious if you were seeing a TMJ Specialist.Specialists always cost more. You might want to get a second opinion from a General Dentist who are more than capable of equilibrations.
