How would an outbreak of swine flu affect the economy?

From what I saw it helped the economy. Vaccines were made and sold, people were buying random rap online for it, and doctors were all booked on overly scared parents. Many people made a huge deal about it, and whether that action was necessary or not is debatable. However, the medicine industry saw a boost in money.
