If someone told you that they didn't want to know the results of something would you keep it quiet?

Me personally, knowing something meant that much to someone I wouldn't ruin it. My only advice to you would be not to answer your phone, check your messages or check your text messages until after you get home and watch the game for yourself. I don't know what type of friends you have, mine wouldn't do that to me. I'm a huge basketball fan and I record games all the time. I know how you feel.
